V85 TT MY21

A dream on two wheels

There’s simply no other way to describe the V85 TT and the V8 TT Travel. The Euro 5-compliant engine with greater torque in low and medium speeds delivers a performance that is more powerful and thrilling than ever. Five riding modes mean even the most accomplished riders will find something to set their pulse racing. On the aesthetics front, there are stunning tubeless wheels and striking new graphics that show off every curve of the bike, to say nothing of the effect they’ll have on passers-by as you swoop round the curves of the road. Admit it, you’re already itching to don your helmet!

A bike for living, not simply riding

Sleek, practical and sporting the famous Moto Guzzi style, the V85 TT is the perfect companion, whether we’re talking about every day commuting or intrepid adventures. There’s no compromising on comfort and performance, and this is something not to be sneezed at in a market that is becoming increasingly cookie-cutter. The V85 TT has certainly delivered on its ambition to combine iconic design with all the bells and whistles of a modern enduro touring bike, and definitely earns the title of First and Only in Class when it comes to a classic enduro.

Distance poses no problem

The V85 TT Travel includes all the tech updates of its V85 TT sibling. It comes with all the features that you’ll need on a long trip, such as the Touring windshield, Urban series side panniers with increased capacity and reduced bulk, LED auxiliary lights, adjustable heated handgrips and last, but not least, the Moto Guzzi MIA multimedia platform available as an extra.

Looks that pack a punch

The V85 TT comes in three brand-new graphic options, developed to show off every curve of its stylish frame. Choose from Nero Etna black, Giallo Mojave yellow and the striking red Rosso Uluru version.

Embrace the luxury of freedom

There is no doubt that the V85 TT has inherited the Moto Guzzi love of travel. It’s all about adventuring and exploring, and no bike more than this evokes vivid memories of the famous desert competitions of years gone by, such as the Paris-Dakar rally of the 1980s. And, even if the V85 TT is not quite a time machine, it comes close, recreating the freedom and thrills that have made the Mandello eagle so revered over the decades.

V9 MY 21

RIDING IS EASY, BUT DISMOUNTING IS ANYTHING BUT

Packed with new technology and engineering excellence, this is not a bike for anyone trying to keep a low profile.

With the completely overhauled twin-cylinder 850cc, 65 hp, 73 Nm engine and advanced frame, riding thrills are taken to a whole new level, while on the looks side, new finishes, foot pegs and saddle deliver all the style you’d expect from a bike sporting the Mandello eagle.
After all, it’s not by chance that Moto Guzzi custom bikes have been among the world’s most popular and beloved for over 100 years. Generations have revered their unique design and of course, at the heart of each is the legendary twin-cylinder 90° V-engine engine.
A century of tenaciousness, passion and testing come together in the V9 Roamer andV9 Bobber, to deliver an unbeatable combination of outstanding riding pleasure and showstopping style.

MODELS

Both models are available in a reduced-power variant to meet the criteria of a learner's or beginner's licence, meaning even young riders can enjoy the thrill of a V9. However, be warned, it may be hard to prise them off the saddle!

V9 ROAMER

An intuitive and universal custom, the V9 Roamer is a dream to ride, packed with unique features and stunning finishes.

V9 BOBBER

The dark soul of Moto Guzzi, the V9 Bobber sports oversize tyres and alluring, sleek lines.

A remarkable engine

The most evident change is the new 850cc, 65 hp and 73 Nm engine. Sharing the same pedigree as the V85 TT, it delivers lively performance and is ably abetted by an improved frame that has been strengthened in the headstock area to increase stability and riding precision.

Sheer sophistication

Vibrations are a distant memory, with comfort taken to the nth degree. There is all you could ask of and more, with functions such as ABS and MGCT adjustable traction control, which you can also choose to disable. On top of this, the V9 Bobber boasts new a new digital instrument panel and a full-LED lighting system that highlights the silhouette of the Mandello eagle

All you need for great adventures

And of course, there are plenty of accessories to add that extra wow touch to both models, starting with the Moto Guzzi MIA multimedia system that connects your phone and bike to create a multi-functional onboard computer.

Colours

Style in abundance

The V9 Roamer comes in Grigio Lunare, an elegant shade of grey with glossy mudguards, fuel tank and side panels. Whether parked or in full flight on the road, it’s sure to attract admiring glances.

The V9 Bobber is available in Nero Essenziale, in keeping with its dark, nocturnal spirit, a characteristic that is further emphasised through the absence of any milling on the cylinder fins which are also totally black.

2021 RM-Z RANGE AVAILABLE IN JANUARY

Suzuki’s Arenacross championship-winning RM-Z450 is available in its new 2021 livery from January, along with the MX2 RM-Z250 machine.

On both machines the standout yellow, synonymous with Suzuki’s off-road activity, is complemented by black radiator shrouds, white number boards, blue-topped seat, and retro-inspired, chunky RM-Z decals.

In 2020 the RM-Z450 picked up its fifth Arenacross championship since 2015, with Charles Le Francois winning for UK-based SR75 World Team Suzuki.

The title-winning RM-Z450 was completely redesigned in 2018 with a whole new chassis, making it the first production motocross machine to adopt Showa’s premium, race-proven balance free shock. It also put out more power than its predecessor with improved tumble flow, new intake cam profile, a 30% larger air filter aperture, new throttle body and injector.

The RM-Z250 benefitted from similar treatment a year later, with a new frame, swingarm, and suspension, plus a heavily revised engine for more power and torque. Both bikes get the Suzuki’s holeshot assist control and traction management systems.

2021 COLOURS REVEALED FOR SUZUKI’S 650 RANGES

Suzuki has revealed new colours for its 2021, Euro5-compliant 650 V-twin ranges, with updates to the ever-popular V-Strom 650 and SV650 machines.

The adventure-ready V-Strom 650XT, with spoked wheels and handguards plus traction control and low RPM assist, comes in a fresh version of Suzuki’s motocross yellow, complete with gold rims, paying homage to the off-road racing from the Japanese manufacturer.

Gold rims also adorn a new white edition, with gold and black accents on the tank, while a new black and red version plus a grey and blue model are also available.

The standard V-Strom 650 will come in red, white, and grey in 2021.

The middleweight naked SV650 is available in gloss black next year with a gold frame, or for those looking to stand out further from the crowd, a white model comes with a striking red frame and red wheels and black seat unit. Another matt black option is offset by a blue frame and blue wheels.

With dropped bars, a headlight cowling, and ribbed seat as standard, the café race-inspired SV650X comes in gloss black with a gold frame, but also swaps the chrome tipped exhaust and silver footrest hangers of the standard machine for all black items.

The 2021 V-Strom 650 and V-Strom 650XT plus both variants of the SV650 are available from January.

We want to assure you that Suzuki GB is following all Government advice and working responsibly with our dealer network to support you and our staff during the current Regional and National COVID restrictions. In light of the latest Government announcements, we would like to update you on how we are remaining open for business to support you through this period.

What sales and aftersales support can you expect from Suzuki and our dealer network during a period of enhanced COVID restrictions?

First of all, the safety of our customers and dealer colleagues is of utmost importance and as such Suzuki dealerships are operating with COVID safe working practices and have been since the National lockdown earlier this year.

The vast majority of our service departments remain open and continue to provide you with all the services you may need.  Staff will be taking safety precautions in a COVID secure way.

BLACK AND ORANGE GSX-R1000R JOINS 2021 SUZUKI RANGE

Suzuki’s British Superbike and Superstock 1000 race-winning GSX-R1000R is available in a new black colour scheme for 2021, complemented by orange and grey accents and bold, grey, SUZUKI lettering, as a nod to the firm’s now well-recognised race bike livery.

Available in dealerships now, the GSX-R’s variable valve timing-equipped engine produces 202PS and features a comprehensive electronics package including a 10-mode, lean angle-sensitive traction control system, a quickshifter and auto-blipper, and launch control.

The new black and orange variant of the GSX-R1000R – which joins the 100th anniversary edition in Suzuki’s range in 2021 – is also available with £1000 off its RRP as part of Suzuki’s £1 per cc offer, meaning it can be had for just £15,999.

SAVE UP TO £1000 WITH SUZUKI'S £1 PER CC OFFER PLUS NO DEPOSIT REQUIRED

Suzuki’s popular £1 per cc offer will return this autumn, which will see customers able to enjoy savings of up to £1000.

Buyers of the British Superbike and Superstock race-winning GSX-R1000R – with its MotoGP-derived variable valve timing system and comprehensive suite of electronics – as well as the GSX-S1000, GSX-S1000F, and the new Katana will benefit from a £1000 saving.

Meanwhile there is £750 to be saved on the GSX-S750, plus a £650 discount on the V-Strom 650 and V-Strom 650XT, SV650, and SV650X.

In addition, all models are available on both PCP and Hire Purchase finance with no deposit required, making it even easier to make the switch to a new Suzuki.

SUZUKI RELEASES NEW COLOURS FOR GSX-S750

Suzuki has released two new colour options for its popular GSX-S750 naked, which includes a new blue and black edition with fluro accents as well as a grey and black version with striking blue wheels.

A reimagined blue and black livery sees a black tank, mudguard, seat unit, and belly pan complemented by blue radiator shrouds and side panels, all offset by standout fluro accents around the headlight and on the belly pan, plus the 750 graphic on the seat unit and rim decals.

Retaining the same black elements is a variant that swaps the blue to a subtle, classy grey, which is finished with blue details and blue wheels.

Adorning the tank and radiator shrouds of both models is a large GSX logo, reminiscent of the SUZUKI logo on the firm’s GSX-R machines.

The GSX-S750 produces 114PS from it’s GSX-R-derived engine, which is tuned for more street-focussed performance. It features a three-mode traction control system, plus Suzuki’s practical easy-start and low rpm assist aids.

And currently available with £750 off it means the GSX-S750 comes with an RRP of just £7249, and with a £2000 deposit or trade-in can be ridden for £60.30 per month on a three-year PCP deal.

V-STROM 1050XT WINS MOTO JOURNAL

MOTORCYCLE OF THE YEAR AWARD

The new V-Strom 1050XT has picked up Moto Journal's award for motorcycle of the year, with a rating of 91 out 100.

The respected French title handed the award of moto de l'année to the new-for-2020 Suzuki V-Strom after a thorough evaluation focussing on the bike's ability, spec, and price.

The new V-Strom 1050XT uses the proven 1037cc V-twin engine from Suzuki, but meets Euro5 emissions regulations while increasing peak power to 107.4PS (79kW), a 7% increase over the previous generation.

And while the design harks back to the original and iconic DR Big and pays homage to that original adventure machine – both bikes were designed by the same person – a thoroughly modern and comprehensive suite of electronics dubbed Suzuki Intelligent Rider System (SIRS), sees the V-Strom 1050XT equipped with cruise control, lean angle-sensitive ABS, two ABS modes, slope-dependent control, load-dependent control, and traction control, plus a ride-by-wire throttle and three power modes.

FREE CITY PACK KIT WITH NEW V-STROM 1050

Suzuki is offering a free City Pack accessory kit with the new V-Strom 1050.

The pack – which usually retails for £549 – includes a spacious 55-litre top box, all the necessary mounting kit and a centre stand.

It means the V-Strom 1050, already lauded as one of the best-value adventure bikes on the market thanks to its RRP of just £9,999, now offers even more practicality. The free City Pack makes the true all-rounder an ideal tool for both weekend getaways and the daily commute, with plenty of space to keep your clothes and laptop for work while avoiding crowded public transport.

Launched this year the V-Strom 1050 uses Suzuki’s 1037cc V-twin engine which has been upgraded for Euro5, making 7% more power (107PS) whilst delivering strong liner torque from tick over to red line and 57.65mpg, giving an impressive 250mile range from its 20L tank. There are three power modes and three traction control settings to keep everything in check, plus the ability to turn the traction control off. It also gets Suzuki’s easy start and low RPM assist, which aids setting off and makes light work of town riding.

SUZUKI TO HOST SUPER 70 TEST RIDE WEEKEND

With the impending release of the ‘70’ registration plate in September Suzuki has announced a Suzuki Super 70 Test Ride weekend on 11-13 September, plus the chance to win one of three V-Strom 1050-themed Arai Tour-X4 helmets worth £649.

With almost all of Suzuki’s on-road dealer network taking part there will be no shortage of models to demo, including the new-for-2020 V-Strom 1050 – which currently comes with a free City Pack – and V-Strom 1050XT. Both bikes have the latest Euro 5 version of Suzuki’s fabled 1037cc V-twin, which now puts out 107PS. They also get a three-stage traction control system and three engine power modes. The XT adds cruise control, hill hold assist, load and slope-dependent control linked brakes, two ABS modes plus lean angle-sensitive ABS.

Those that take a test ride can enter a prize to draw to win one of the Arai adventure helmets by posting a picture of themselves with the new V-Strom to the SuzukiBikesUK Facebook page or by tagging @SuzukiBikesUK on Instagram or Twitter, and using the hashtag #SuzukiSuper70.

With a host of other offers running across the range there is also something for everyone. Suzuki’s ‘2-3-4’ offer – which allows customers to choose from either a two, three, of four-year PCP or HP deal with an APR to match – is available on the range-topping GSX-R1000R and the GSX-R1000, the GSX-S1000 super-naked and the faired GSX-S1000F, plus the middleweight GSX-S750, V-Strom 650 and V-Strom 650XT, and the Katana.

Many models are also eligible for a £500 discount when taken for a test ride, including the GSX-R1000R, GSX-S1000, GSX-S1000F, Katana, V-Strom 650, SV650, and SV650X. Those looking for a 125cc solution can also enjoy £500 off the GSX-R125 and GSX-S125 machines.

Vespa Elettrica is recognised at the Compasso d’Oro awards

ICONIC VESPA STYLE, IN ITS MOST INNOVATIVE VERSION, RECEIVES AN HONORABLE MENTION AT THE 26TH EDITION OF THE WORLD’S MOST PRESTIGIOUS DESIGN AWARDS

With the implementation of electric technology, Vespa confirms its status as a timeless icon and a symbol of the future.  The 26th ADI Compasso d’Oro Awards saw the Vespa Elettrica receive an honourable mention and a prestigious acknowledgment to recognise excellence in global design.  The international judging panel described the scooter with high regard “Vespa Elettica confirms the innovative, pioneering spirt of Vespa, a unique and unmistakeable brand in the global mobility market”.

The unrivalled modern icon of Italian style and technology, the Vespa Elettrica is synonymous with advanced connectivity, noiselessness, unique design, customisation, affordability and last but not least, respect for the environment.  These values are not new to the Vespa brand, but have never been more comprehensively expressed than with the Elettrica which confirms the brand's stand as a step ahead of its time.

Founded in 1954, the ADI Compasso d'Oro (Golden Compass) awards are the oldest and most widely respected in the design world. The brain child of Gio Ponti, they were introduced as a way to recognise outstanding Italian design. Since 1964, ADI (Association of Industrial Design) has managed the awards, ensuring integrity and impartiality. In over half a century, almost 300 winning items and 2000 products / designs that have received an Honourable Mention have been gathered and kept in the ADI Compasso d’Oro Award Historical Collection.

Recipients of the Compasso d'Oro award are chosen based on pre-selections made by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory.  This consists of a committee of experts, designers, critics, historians, specialist journalists, members and non-members of the ADI, all of whom gather year after year to evaluate and select the best products which are then published in the annual ADI Design Index.

This is not the first time that Piaggio Group has been recognised by ADI and the Compasso d'Oro, they where also awarded in the nineties and also received an Honourable mention for the Vespa 946 in 2016.

This year's award ceremony took place in the new ADI Design Museum in Milan, where the Vespa Elettrica will be on display until 16th September, together with all of the other products that were part of the 2020 competition.

For further information or details about visiting the “26th Compasso d'Oro – Putting down roots” exhibition visit www.adi-design.org.

The design of the Vespa Elettrica is in keeping with the iconic style that has won the hearts of generations of people throughout its 75 year history. Like other Vespas the Elettrica has the same high quality steel body which is finished in an exclusive grey. Available in either 45 km/h or 70 km/h versions and categorised as a moped this stunning scooter is perfect for urban travel or for those wanting to go further afield.

LET'S VESPA

It's time to get back on the move! In a time when rules are changing and distance are more important than ever, there really is no better travel companion than Vespa.

The world's most beloved scooter is resurrecting the iconic “Lets Vespa” slogan exactly 70 years after it was first launched.  At the time Europe was embarking on a post-war reconstruction and was in the initial stages of the economic boom.  Vespa represented the return not only of mobility, but more fundamentally freedom.

Seven decades on, what does “Lets Vespa” mean today? Its the call to reclaim freedom and the ability to move around independently in total safety.  It means each of us taking control of the distance we maintain, opting to avoid queues, traffic and crowds. With Vespa this can be accomplished in style.

The new campaign by BBH London highlights Vespa's link with the world of art, with contributions from four renowned artists from the international graphic design scene. English artist Paul Thurlby, Quentine Monge of France, Sebastian Curi from Argentina and Italian Agostino Lacurci have created their own take on themes that celebrate the reconnection between human beings and some acts or rituals that had to be foregone during lockdown.

The first version of Lets Vespa was launched in 1950 and featured the artwork of Nino Ferenzi (also know as Ferencich), with later versions coming from high profile names in the advertising world including Bernard Villemot of France and the Italian Zambelli.  The message was clear; Vespa was the new way to get around, faster, easier and more affordable than a car.

“Let’s Vespa” signified a linguistic revolution, creating a verb from the name of a brand and going on to be used in legendary campaigns such as “Chi Vespa mangia le mele” [Who Vespa eats the apples] and a decade later “Giovane chi Vespa” [The young who Vespa].

Over the years Vespa's advertising messages continued to break the mould, with posters often becoming keepsakes and souvenirs of personal adventures and important moments. Since 1946, when the first scooter was produced, over 18 million Vespas have followed, creating an extraordinary passion and community all over the world.    Vespa has seamlessly navigated across all social classes, lead revolutions in clothing and music. Through the good times and the bad, Vespa has become the world's leading brand when it comes to getting around and a symbol of global freedom.

Martin Child talks to Moss about his attendance on the world launch for Bike Magazine, while Mark Hoyer dials in from the USA to talk about his experiences, plus the US Busa culture.

Sean Mills from Big CC reveals just what's possible from the Hayabusa's engine, and tells us about his 1000bhp Busa that's good for nearly 300mph, before Radical Sportscars Will Brown explains just why the Hayabusa engine is a perfect fit for their racing exploits.

Vespamania: Our Love for Josh Rogers

Vespa has been winning the hearts of fans for 75 years. We recently spent some time chatting with Josh Rogers, a US-based collector.

As an icon of design, Vespa has become a universal symbol of Italian style. With a storied past and an eye on the future, Vespa speaks to people regardless of age or location. Choosing to ride a Vespa is not a decision rooted in purely practical needs as Vespa transcends function and exudes a type of stylish, lighthearted, joyful lifestyle.

That’s why Vespa riders are not just fans of the brand, but often become enthusiasts of all things Vespa, as we saw in Josh Rogers.

Earlier this summer, Josh invited us to visit his collection of Vespas in San Jose, California. His garage is filled with Vespas. He owns a specialized collection of Vespas including some of the rarest models produced, and he is always searching for the next find. For Josh, collecting Vespas is akin to owning a piece of history. His collection encompasses models spanning decades, engines and colors, and he also has a vast treasure trove of memorabilia, including posters, gadgets, pins, games and other novelty items.

Josh’s passion began when he bought his first Vespa at age 18, after noticing one after a ska concert and falling in love with its visual design and the sound of its engine.  “I think I went from being a driver to a collector the moment when I bought my second model,” he notes.

His love for Vespa has spilled over into other aspects of his life, including a community of other Vespa enthusiasts .
“I like driving them, I like collecting them, and thanks to them I’ve made some wonderful friendships. Passion is my driving force,” he notes.

Whenever Josh has found a rare, old Vespa, he works with a specialized mechanic to restore them to near perfect original condition. Once the restoration is done, the hunt for the next scooter begins because, as he says, you can never have too many Vespas.”

His personal “holy grail” is the 1946 Vespa 98 model, inscribed on the Historical Register: the third Vespa model made in the history of the brand. It’s rarity and museum-quality allows him to refer to the model as “the Bugatti of scooters.”

One model that stands out and makes him feel the sexiest is the Vespa GS Cushman, a model he has used when riding round trip from San Jose to Morro Bay in California.

For several years now Josh has been the president of VCOF, the Vespa Club of America, whose members share a passion for scooters and for spending time together at various conventions and events. “My collection is a reflection of the relationships I’ve built over time and the people I’ve met,” he says.

Thanks, Josh! We hope you will continue to find more treasures to restore.

Suzuki has announced three accessory packs for its hotly anticipated V-Strom 1050 and V-Strom 1050XT ahead of their arrival in March, and knowing everyone’s idea of adventure varies, Suzuki has tailored its new kits to suit.

A fully-loaded Explore pack equips the DR-Z-inspired V-Strom 1050XT with full aluminium luggage, engine bars, LED fog lamps, aluminium bash plate, and heated grips. Ideal for those looking to cover big mileage and conquer rougher terrain, the Explore pack comes with an RRP* of £2,499 and represents a saving of £626 over the cost of the individual items.

For customers plotting weekends away the Tour pack comprises full aluminium luggage and costs £1,299, meaning a saving of £316.  Those looking to exploit the V-Strom 1050s capabilities as a city tool can opt for the City pack which includes a spacious 55-litre top box and centre stand for £549, saving £115 in the process

Suzuki GB’s national motorcycle marketing manager, Ian Bland, commented, “We know a lot of owners want to add a personal touch or tailor their V-Strom to their specific needs, and by offering three different accessory packs that is now not only easier but also more affordable, too. The packs can also be fitted at the point of sale, and benefit from the same three-year warranty we offer across our range.”

The new V-Strom 1050 and V-Strom 1050XT use an updated version of Suzuki’s 1037cc V-Twin engine, the Euro5 version of the popular power plant producing 7% more power than the previous iteration. Both machines also get a three-mode traction control system and three selectable engine power modes.

An enhanced electronics package on the V-Strom 1050XT boasts Suzuki’s Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), which, with a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) at its heart, includes lean angle-sensitive ABS with two settings, linked brakes that can detect and adapt to load and inclines, plus hill hold control and cruise control.

*RRP excludes fitting.

Explore and Tour packs available on both V-Strom 1050XT and V-Strom 1050. City pack available on V-Strom 1050 only.

NEW V-STROM 1050 AND 1050 XT AVAILABLE TO ORDER NOW – PRICES START FROM £9,999.

Suzuki has announced pricing for its new DR-Z inspired adventure machine, with the V-Strom 1050 available for £9,999, while the flagship V-Strom 1050XT comes with an RRP of £11,299.

Both machines use an updated version of Suzuki’s proven 1037cc V-Twin engine, which produces 7% more power than the outgoing V-Strom 1000 while meeting Euro5 regulations. Peak power is now 107PS. They also get a three-mode traction control system, that can be turned off, and three selectable engine maps.

The V-Strom 1050XT’s electronics package is enhanced thanks to Suzuki’s Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), which features an inertial measurement unit (IMU), lean-angle sensitive ABS with two settings, linked brakes that can detect and adapt to load and inclines, plus hill hold control and cruise control.

The XT also swaps the V-Strom 1050’s cast aluminium wheels for spoked items, and boasts hand guards, engine bars, and a centre stand as standard.

Announcing the pricing, Suzuki GB’s head of motorcycles, Jonathan Martin said, “Suzuki’s V-Strom range has always delivered exciting and dependable performance you can enjoy every day and everywhere while offering great value, and the new V-Strom 1050 and V-Strom 1050XT continue to do that.

“Available from just £9,999, it means it is the most competitively priced adventure bike over 1000cc, and means customers can enjoy all the benefits of the new V-Strom 1050s plus still afford to take off on some adventures on their new bikes.”

The new V-Strom 1050 and V-Strom 1050XT are currently on display at Motorcycle Live, which is taking place at Birmingham’s NEC until Sunday 24 November.
