Kawasaki Motors UK continue support for Rob Vine Fund at the Isle of Man TT

Ahead of the Senior TT race tomorrow, Kawasaki Motors UK has made a donation to the Rob Vine Fund, a charity organisation that provides training and essential medical and rescue equipment to doctors and paramedics involved in all forms of motorsport on the Isle of Man.

The Rob Vine Fund is an essential part of the Isle of Man TT, providing the event with 130 Immediate Care Cases and 130 Scoop Stretchers alongside helping frontline ambulances, air ambulances and response cars. The charity has long been a cause that Kawasaki UK has supported, and the manufacturer is very happy to be again making a donation of £2,500 to Ros Gale, Director of the Rob Vine Fund, to not only support TT2023 but also enable them to continue the fantastic work they do for future events on the island.

The charity was founded in 1985 following the tragic loss of Rob Vine in the Senior TT, and since then has played a vital role in helping to support the medical services in all forms of two, three and four-wheel competition on the island, including the Isle of Man TT. Further information on the fund can be found at https://www.robvinefund.im/

Howard Dale, General Manager at Kawasaki Motors UK

“We have been supporting the Rob Vine Fund for a number of years now and are fully behind the great work that they do. The Isle of Man TT races and associated events are a spectacle to behold, but of course come with risks, so to be able to help in a small way to aid this great charity in the work that they do is fantastic. We would like to thank Ros Gale for all of the hard work that she puts in to ensure the maximum amount possible is raised for this important charity.”

New Kawasaki Eliminator for Europe in 2024

The Eliminator brand makes a welcome return to the Kawasaki motorcycle model range in Europe for 2024 with a totally new model and concept called the Eliminator with the tag line “Just Ride”.

Offering yet more Kawasaki choice in the mid-capacity European A2 class, the new Eliminator has distinctive urban cruiser styling offering a comfortable and low seat plus a cruiser style 18” front and 16” rear wheel combination all relying on an all-new trellis type chassis with a 451cm3 Ninja based fuel-injected parallel twin engine at its core delivering strong low rev performance combined with lively upper rev range ability.

In a nod to previous Eliminator models, the 2024 machine has a tail unit reflecting the heritage of the brand family while twin rear shock absorbers aid the “traditional meets modern” look. Offering a natural and relaxed riding position and conceived to be passenger friendly, the Eliminator rider can rely on all-digital instrumentation plus the welcome incorporation of an assist and slipper clutch.

Focussing on what Kawasaki terms its “Horizontal” design approach, the full 2024 Eliminator specification will soon be revealed – along with many genuine accessory items – but two colour options have been confirmed; the first option being Metallic Flat Spark Black and the second Metallic Matte Carbon Gray with Flat Ebony.

It’s said that the best things come to those that wait, so potential Eliminator customers need to hold their breath just a little longer for the full facts to emerge regarding this welcome new addition to the Kawasaki cruiser stable. The Eliminator will be available from January 2024, with a guide price between £6,600 and £6,800.

New Ninja ZX-6R for 2024 Kawasaki range

An iconic name appears in the Kawasaki motorcycle range for the 2024 sales season with the announcement of a new Ninja ZX-6R and its tagline “Supersport Obsession”.

Boasting a number of features not so far seen on the much-loved Supersport middleweight in previous iterations, the 2024 model has both technical and styling updates ready to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding street or track day rider. And with the aid of Kawasaki’s iconic Ram Air system a stunning maximum of 95.2 kW {129 PS} is produced at 13,000 rpm.

The most obvious aspect of the new machine is the distinctive aero-winglet equipped Ninja “face” with purposeful aggressive lines incorporating for the first time hybrid projector/reflector headlights (part of a complete LED lighting package), and a new sports windshield equipped with special cut outs to reduce buffeting. The entire bodywork for 2024 uses interwoven layers to create a 3D effect, with the multiple layers adding to a high-class design.

In terms of the cockpit area, a new 4.3inch (11cm) colour TFT meter makes its debut and also facilitates Smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology App. Information updates such as a shift light, Kawasaki service reminder, oil change reminder, Riding Mode indicator, Smartphone call and mail notices are all available. Also featured – along with all the familiar vehicle status updates – are a Bluetooth indicator and an Economical Riding Indicator.

From a technical perspective, the famous and highly praised 636 cm3 liquid-cooled, 4-stroke in-line four forms the core of the machine and now features revised cam profiles to satisfy stricter emission regulations plus revised intake funnels and revised header and collector pipes all combining to benefit low- to mid-rpm performance.

A move to round over petal discs reflects the current Ninja ZX-10R family image while such items as the SFF-BP (Separate function fork with big piston), KQS Kawasaki Quick Shifter, three mode KTRC traction control and both power modes and integrated riding modes underpin the high specification of this Supersport legend.

Rolling on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R will be available in two colourways for the upcoming season, a green version (naturally!) in Lime Green/Ebony plus a more “stealth” version combining Metallic Graphite Gray and Metallic Diablo Black. For sure Kawasaki dealers and loyal fans of the Ninja family will welcome the sight of a new and comprehensively updated Ninja ZX-6R for 2024 keeping the Ninja flame burning brightly.

The 2024 Ninja ZX-6R will be available from October and priced at £10,599.

Ultimate touring record achieved: 15 countries in 22 hours with the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE

What seemed an unattainable record, has been achieved with the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE. On Saturday, May 20, Thierry Sarasyn visited 15 countries* in one day with Kawasaki's adventure-touring motorcycle. It took the Belgian barely 22 hours to cover the 2200 km adhering to the local traffic regulations of each country visited.

This wasn’t Sarasyn’s first record attempt. Last year he rode through 13 countries in one day. “After the Italian Valerio Boni's achievement in 2021, this was the second officially registered Touring record,” commented Sarasyn. “But there were rumours – especially online – about motorcyclists who had visited 14 countries in one day; and there’s even a video of a ride of 15 countries in 24 hours and 3 minutes. None of those attempts had been registered with a tracking device or were done in less than 24 hours. After the thirteen countries in one day, however, I had sworn I would never take on such an adventure again. But….”

Never say never

Opinions can change, though.  “When I got the chance to ride the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE, I saw it as an opportunity to set things straight once and for all. A ride through 15 countries, registered by an official tracking system as well as respecting traffic rules and enough rest along the way.”

The comfort and touring capabilities of the Versys combined with the experience gained last year, made the adventure a success. Saturday May 20th at 7:59 p.m. Sarasyn rode across the border into the Netherlands, just under 22 hours after starting in Poland. “That was better than I had ever dared to hope, especially since they closed a tunnel on the Austrian border. I was stuck there for over an hour”, the Belgian stated.

Experience

“With the experience of 2022, I was able to avoid the bottlenecks I found on my route back then. Moreover, with the Kawasaki Versys 1000, I now had greater autonomy and amazing comfort. To state that I could have ridden much further would be stretching the truth, but I was less tired than last year. With over 400 km extra on the odometer, two more countries visited and almost three hours more in the saddle…this was enough for me. But it seemed like the Versys 1000 was hungry for more. If I have a fitting idea, I might hop back in the saddle. In the meantime, I am very happy that I was able to accomplish this feat. It hardly seems feasible to safely visit more countries in one day. This is a record that may be here for quite some time to come.”

Partners

Without renowned partners, such as Kawasaki Benelux, Motul Oil and Bridgestone, the Belgian would never have been able to set up this adventure. “When Thierry approached me to try and break his own record with the Versys 1000 SE, I immediately jumped at the opportunity,” says Frank Zoontjes of Kawasaki Benelux. “We now know that when Thierry has an idea, he goes flat out and for this project the Versys 1000 SE was an eminently suitable motorcycle. It’s made for long adventurous journeys. There is no better proof than this record. No motorcycle can more appropriately carry this honour than the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE!”

* The countries he visited are: Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, France, Luxemburg, Belgium and The Netherlands. Check also https://thierry-sarasyn.legendstracking.com/

Podium Delight For Kawasaki at the North West 200!

The 2023 North West 200 proved a successful weekend for Kawasaki, with Dean Harrison claiming three podiums in the Superbike and Superstock classes while Richard Cooper doubled up on Supertwin victories.

The high-speed 8.9 mile ‘Triangle’ circuit is one of the fastest road races in the world, with riders reaching speeds in excess of 200mph, and for our Kawasaki riders, the 2023 North West 200 proved a great week of racing.

For DAO Racing Kawasaki’s Dean Harrison, the event is a chance to dial in his ZX-10RR Superbike and Superstock machines ahead of the legendary Isle of Man TT, which kicks off later this month. With strong pace throughout practice and qualifying, the Bradford-based rider claimed fourth place in the opening Superstock race on Thursday evening in a strong showing on his debut on the bike.

With glorious weather gracing race day on Saturday, and following some changes made since Thursday, Dean and the team were eager to improve their results. The opening Superbike race proved a thriller, with riders swapping places throughout, and Dean was able to claim his first podium of the week with third place.

In the second Superstock race, Dean was able to improve his position from Thursday night by again claiming third place, a feat he would repeat in the final Superbike race, completing a trio of well-earned podiums.

The success did not just come in the big bike categories, though. Despite it being a last-minute entry, Richard Cooper dominated the Supertwin class aboard his KMR Kawasaki. Claiming pole position in qualifying, the diminutive ‘Coops’ proved to be in a class of his own as he cruised to both race victories, setting a new lap record in the process. To cement a great weekend for Kawasaki, further Supertwin podiums came from Adam McLean and Paul Jordan, who took the maiden podium for the all-new Ninja 650!

Road Racing fans now just have two weeks to wait until the iconic Isle of Man comes alive with the sound of two wheels as the TT kicks off!

Ross Burridge, Head of Marketing & Racing Department at Kawasaki UK:

“Although it looked like it might not go ahead at one point, the 2023 North West 200 was a great success, and it was fantastic to see our Kawasaki riders do so well. With three podiums, Dean and the DAO team have set themselves up perfectly for the TT and we are all really excited to see how they get on later this month.

It was also great to see Richard Cooper claim both Supertwin riders, while the first podium for the Ninja 650 showcases its versatility and performance.”

Kawasaki UK announces Motorcycle Live Ninja 400 winner!

Last year, Kawasaki once again partnered with the annual Motorcycle Live show to give one lucky visitor a chance to win a brand-new Ninja 400. With the competition closing in February, Kawasaki is pleased to announce Jason Evans as the winner, collecting his new bike from Drayton Croft over the weekend.

The multiple-choice question saw thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts enter for their chance to win the championship-winning Ninja 400, including first registration fee, 12 months road tax, a number plate and insurance worth up to £250, courtesy of Kawasaki Insurance.

The winner was then picked at random from the correct entries, with Jason Evans being the lucky recipient! Having ridden for 32 years, this will be Jason’s first Kawasaki and he is excited to be joining the Ninja fold this summer. “I still can’t quite believe I was so lucky! I’ve been riding since I was 17 and this is going to be my first time owning a Kawasaki myself – although my wife has a Z650 and my dream bike growing up was a Ninja, so I’ve always been a fan.

I remember entering the competition after visiting the show last year, but I’ll be honest, I really didn’t think I would get lucky. So much so, that I still wasn’t completely convinced when Craig Watson, the Sales & Marketing Manager from Kawasaki first told me I was the lucky winner! It’s incredible to win such a stunning bike and it’s a fantastic addition to my garage.

I’m going to be using it throughout the summer for sure. I’ve got a fair bit of riding planned, including a trip to the Isle of Man TT, MotoGP at Silverstone and hopefully some British and World Superbike races too.”

Ross Burridge, Head of Marketing & Racing Department at Kawasaki UK:
“We had an amazing response to our Motorcycle Live competition, and it was fantastic to offer one lucky winner the chance to get their hands on a new Ninja 400. It’s great that Jason has already started making plans on how he will use the bike, and we look forward to hopefully seeing him at an event later in the year!”

ADSS97 Kawasaki announces star-studded World Endurance Line Up!

UK-based World Endurance team ADSS97 Kawasaki is upping the ante for 2023, announcing an exciting new rider line up of Chris Walker, Levi Day, Chris Platt and Craig Currie. All four riders will be competing on a freshly prepared Superstock spec Ninja ZX-10R.

2023 will mark a big step forward for the ADSS97 Kawasaki team. After several seasons competing in the Endurance World Championship Superstock class, the squad are now setting their sights on success with its strongest line up to date.

Spearheading the effort is Kawasaki legend Chris Walker, who will be returning to the competitive world of endurance racing for the first time in over two decades.  Joining him on the Ninja ZX-10R will be Australian rider Levi Day, who has enjoyed great success in the National Superstock class in the UK. Team owner and experienced rider Chris Platt completes the team, having ridden Kawasaki machinery in both the British and World Endurance Championships. Craig Currie is on hand as reserve rider for the season as well as competing on three wheels in the World Sidecar Championship and Isle of Man TT.

The ADSS97 Kawasaki team truck will also be the K-Tech Suspension Service Centre for the entire EWC Paddock.

Chris Walker:
“What an opportunity! To race within a team full of my pals on a proven bike, the ADSS97 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, and at the Le Mans 24hr again after a 24-year gap is mega! I had always hoped my career would head me back in the direction of endurance racing as it reached its latter years, having enjoyed it so much in the past, but it didn’t quite pan out. A few years in Sidecars and TriOptions Cup, coupled with old age and obesity, sent me down a different path, so I’ve been Zip testing for RST for a while now, but the chance to go and ride the 24hr EWC series in the stock class is something I couldn’t turn down. So with the help of a few of my old sponsors coming along and supporting the team, I’m back on track, back on a Kwak, back to Le Mans and back on a racers regime of training and eating properly. Testing starts in Spain in a matter of Days, and I can’t wait!”

Levi Day:
“I’m really looking forward to the Endurance World Championship this year, and it’s something I’ve been keen to get into over the last few years. I’ve had the pleasure of doing Suzuka and an eight hour at Estoril a few years ago, so doing the three 24-hour races this year really excites me! It will be something very different to what I’m used to, but I will be working hard to do the best for the team, and I’m looking forward to teaming up with Chris Platt and Chris Walker on the ZX-10R and working together with the team to do our very best. There is a great crew involved, and I’m excited to get going!”

Chris Platt:

“I’ve competed in all sorts of racing, but I have to say that Endurance is one of the friendliest and most supportive paddocks. After cutting our teeth with the UK No Limits Endurance series, we stepped into the EWC paddock in 2021 and have now raced four 24hr races with a 100% success rate! For 2023, with new bikes, the backing of K-Tech Suspension, a strong team structure and new riders with a great mixture of youth and experience, we’re taking the next step, and I can’t wait to get going!”

Ross Burridge, Head of Marketing & Racing Department at Kawasaki UK:
“The ADSS97 Kawasaki team have gone from strength to strength over the past few seasons, and we have been watching their progress closely. With a very strong rider line up this year, we are sure they will do a great job on the very competitive world stage.”

2023 Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR focus on street appeal and racing success

Kawasaki is mounting a full-throttle approach to the 2023 sales season with a newly updated Ninja ZX-10R plus a radical tech change to the WorldSBK race and title winning Ninja ZX-10RR.

For the Ninja ZX-10R model so loved by both street riders and track day enthusiasts, many of the most recent updates remain in place with an impressive maximum power of 149.3 kW {203PS} available that is boosted to 156.8 kW {213PS} with the aid of Kawasaki’s world-famous Ram Air.

In terms of aerodynamics and WorldSBK derived technology, the ZX-10R retains its integrated winglets for increased downforce and cornering precision while the Kawasaki Racing Team developed air-cooled oil-cooler also remains in place.

An array of electronic rider aids – thanks to the integration of a Bosch IMU – cover all aspects of machine control including cornering management, S-KTRC sport traction control, launch control, integrated braking plus engine brake control and selectable power modes and an up-down quick shifter and electronic cruise control. Riders can also link their Smartphone to the colour TFT meter using Kawasaki ‘s own Rideology App.

With an engine that includes finger follower valve actuation (tech shared with the KX450 motocross machine), the Ninja ZX-10R rider can rely on the smoothness and accuracy of electronic throttle valves while riding feedback and racer-like precision is delivered thanks to SHOWA’s BFF (Balance Free Front Fork) up front while rear suspension duties are covered by Horizontal Back-link Rear Suspension with Showa BFRC lite (Balance Free Rear Cushion).

For racers and race teams, the Ninja ZX-10RR has been a point of focus since its introduction and the big news for 2023 is the VAI or Variable Air Intake system. Fitted inside the airbox, the VAI system uses a set of movable intake funnels to alter the intake funnel height.  When the VAI funnels are raised, intake air bypasses the system for optimal high-rpm performance; when lowered, intake air passes through the taller intake funnels, for increased low-mid range performance.  Movement of the funnels is regulated by servos to maximise output at all rpm.

As standard, the new ZX-10RR has the funnels set in a static upper position and for many riders this will be all they require. However, for racers competing in National and International Championships, the VAI system will be another welcome addition to the Ninja ZX-10RR spec that also includes Pankl precision engine parts, a higher rev limit than the standard Ninja ZX-10R and unique Marchesini wheels.

To activate the VAI feature, racing customers will require certain racing kit parts including a race-kit ECU, loom and sub-controller.  VAI is not activated as standard and is not available for those who wish to own and use a Ninja ZX-10RR on public roads.

Both the Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR look to 2023 with optimism, the road machine with its legendary personality and edge, while the ZX-10RR in the hands of KRT and other skilled riders seeks to make the racing top spot its own once again.

Kawasaki to introduce Ninja ZX-4R four-cylinder Supersport

Kawasaki Motors Corporation has announced that it will launch a mid-weight, high performance machine in its famous Ninja range to be called the Ninja ZX-4R. Incorporating a newly designed engine and frame, the exciting new addition to Kawasaki’s Supersports line will also include Ninja ZX-4R SE and Ninja ZX-4RR variants in countries where they are introduced in February 2023 and thereafter. The model is expected in Europe in the Autumn of 2023.

With specifications varying by market, the most powerful Ninja ZX-4R is equipped with a high-output engine that delivers an exceptional 80 PS in a lightweight, compact Ninja ZX-25R-based chassis for superior cornering performance and acceleration feeling. At its introduction, the Ninja ZX will be the only full-fairing supersport model in the 400cc class with a parallel four-cylinder engine. It inherits the aggressive appearance and premium equipment expected of the Ninja ZX family while refining the sensation-provoking exhaust sound of the high-revving four-cylinder engine.

Whether a seasoned rider or new to the joys of Supersport, Ninja ZX-4R riders will experience the exciting riding pleasure of the “APEX PREDATOR” concept on the racetrack or on the street.

At the heart of this immediately impressive machine is a newly developed 399cc liquid-cooled, parallel 4-cylinder DOHC engine based on technology from Kawasaki's legendary Ninja ZX series of supersport machines, which is able to deliver a maximum output of 57 kW (77 PS) and 59 kW (80 PS) when ram air is pressurized*. The engine has been conceived to combine strong low- and mid-range torque with strong power at high rpm and in all riding situations, from daily use to on-track sport riding.

Equipped with Kawasaki’s world-famous Ram Air system that increases filling efficiency and contributes to improved engine performance, the air intake is located in the centre of the upper cowl, providing styling that is instantly recognisable as part of the Ninja ZX series. The Ram Air ducts are located on the left side of the front forks, leading to the airbox while the “Ram Air” stamping is visible to the rider to show off the performance of the Ram Air system. The ultra high-revving engine, which revs above 15,000 rpm, delivers the exhilarating exhaust sound that only a Kawasaki high-performance parallel four-cylinder engine can deliver.

In terms of chassis, the configuration is focused on excellent handling performance and is inspired by the chassis elements and design concept of the Ninja ZX-10RR World Superbike. Featuring a high-tensile steel trellis frame and a curved long-type swingarm, the frame achieves an idealised front-rear weight distribution plus an excellent balance of rigidity and flexibility, providing nimble handling and great rider feedback.

Showa's advanced SFF-BP front fork (Ninja ZX-4R SE and Ninja ZX-4RR models feature a preload adjustment mechanism) is featured with the rear equipped with a horizontal back-link rear suspension system offering the same progressive characteristics of the Ninja ZX-10R supersport model, contributing to the superb handling performance typical of supersport models. Additionally, the Ninja ZX-4RR variant features the same type of Showa BFRC-lite rear shock as the Ninja ZX-10R.

Braking power is delivered via f290mm semi-floating front twin discs and radial-mounted monobloc calipers, while the rear uses a large-diameter f220mm disc. The overall package delivers powerful braking force and excellent brake feel, response and power. In terms of braking effectiveness and grip, the F120/R160 tyre combination adopted is designed to match the Ninja ZX-4R's dynamic performance and provide excellent stability at high speeds.

At first sight there is no mistaking the lines of this new Ninja with its aggressive styling that exudes the power and instantaneous force that the Ninja ZX series is known for. The Ninja ZX-4R's high-grade appearance is also enhanced by the use of LEDs for all lighting, from the twin-light headlight to the taillight.

Electronic rider aids also feature prominently on this latest Ninja with integrated riding modes that link KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) and Power Modes. From four different modes – Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider (Manual), the rider can easily select the appropriate setting to suit the riding conditions and his or her own riding style. Also fitted to the Ninja ZX-4R SE and Ninja ZX-4RR is a dual direction KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter) enabling clutchless shifting up/down.

The meter panel of the Ninja ZX-4R is equipped with a 4.3-inch full-digital colour LCD screen providing high visibility and a premium feel. It integrates a track mode that displays lap times, gear positions, and RPMs from 10,000 rpm and above in an easy-to-read manner. The Kawasaki RIDEOLOGY application can be used to connect to a Smartphone for a variety of functions, including recording GPS route information and vehicle riding information.

In addition to the Ninja ZX-4R, the following two variants are available:

Kawasaki – Have Bag Will Travel

If you made a new year resolution to take no personal baggage into 2023 you are out of luck, Kawasaki has just launched an expanded range of desirable high-quality luggage for the new season, and it covers all the bases.

From backpacks to trolley bags all the way up to a bag large enough to carry an entire set of riding gear, the range comprises six items for the new season with no less than three bags making their debuts.

A 20l capacity sports backpack is first in line complete with lap top pocket, Kawasaki Rivermark logo and even Kawasaki branded zip pullers. Like most partner bags in the range, the dominant colour is black with subtle and effective lime green and white highlights.

Also new is a highly adaptable Canvas bag with both shoulder straps and carry handles that features a convenient padded base so delicate items are cushioned when you put the 27l capacity bag down. To close, the bag features an eyelet and chord hook fastener system further increasing its urban chic credentials.

From respected luggage maker Ogio there are four Kawasaki branded items to complete the 2023 range. For all weather riders and “outdoorsy” types, the waterproof backpack is a boon. Created in welded 420D nylon with a TPU film laminate, its main job in life is keeping your gear dry with the much favoured roll top closing plus three water resistant outer pockets and a capacity of 26l.

This is partnered by an Ogio backpack that can accommodate a large laptop (up to 17inches or 43.2cm) and an overall 40l capacity. It’s also worth noting that many items in the 2023 range comply with airline carry on regulations so check when you book and make your travelling life faster and easier.

And for frequent flyers in the check-in queue, the Ogio trolley bag takes up to 50l. With its telescopic pull handle, integrated wheels and reinforced contact points, this subtle black bag with white Kawasaki logo is classy and practical in equal measure.

Speaking of flights, last off the luggage carousel is the Kawasaki Ogio gear bag featuring SLED technology which stands for Structural Load Equalising Deck. Big rubber tyred wheels mean business and the telescopic pull handle is well up to the job of manoeuvring a “that’s it I’m off to a foreign track day” gear bag that can cope with a humungous 123l load.

It’s a fact of life – if you have stuff, you need a bag and Kawasaki have just about the most practical, durable, and fashionable branded range ready for you at your local dealer or to order from selected on-line outlets. So, make a new year resolution you are happy to keep, travel in style in 2023 with Kawasaki.

Join KRT and dress for success in 2023

2023 testing for the Kawasaki Racing Team has begun and to signify a new start and a new challenge, the riders and staff of KRT have adopted a brand-new clothing style which will also be available from Kawasaki dealers.

Echoing the colour and graphic treatment of the 2023 Ninja ZX-10R in dealer showrooms, both Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes – plus the entire KRT factory superbike racing family – will sport predominantly black and lime green clothing, as expected, yet with the subtle details and design touches expected of a multiple World Championship winning team.

With garments created and styled for both male and female race fans, there are also some mini items for future champions to show mum, dad and the whole world who they support.

In terms of outer wear – and let’s face it, a little rain must fall sometimes – the water-resistant padded jacket features a detachable hood, zipped inner and outer pockets plus internal sleeve cuff. With taped seams, a horizontal quilted thermal lining, internal stretch cuffs and Kawasaki racing sponsor logo’s this jacket is a must have trackside at wet or cold race events.

Also water-resistant is the padded body warmer. Sharing the same taped seam technology with the padded jacket, it also features a quilted thermal lining, zipped pockets plus Kawasaki racing sponsor logo’s and is available – like all male cut clothing – in a range of sizes from S to 3XL.No sport or leisure clothing range could be complete without a T shirt and, duly, the 2023 offering includes a short-sleeved crew neck T-shirt in Kawasaki WSBK team-colours resplendent in Kawasaki racing and sponsor logo’s and created from a single knit fabric with a 50/50 Cotton, Polyester mix.

Moving away from the male torso; there are two lower body clothing options available for men in 2023, a long leg Cargo style trouser and Bermuda shorts for those days when legs simply must be on display. Both styles have Zipped front pockets and feature Cargo style leg pockets plus flapped back pocket and sponsor logos. Again, these are available in male cut sizes from S to 3XL.For women the zipped KRT sweatshirt is going to be one of the most in-demand items sharing its colour way and detailing with the male version but benefiting from a style and cut focused on the female form.  And when the sun makes a welcome appearance, the rounded neck t-shirt is going to be essential wear created in an easy care 50/50 cotton and polyester mix. Like the female cut sweatshirt it is available for 2023 in a size range between S and XL.

Kids are future bikers, so they are not forgotten in the new KRT clothing range with a zipped sweatshirt available displaying a Ninja ZX-10R logo just like the adult apparel plus sponsor logos and the same attention to detail. A partner T shirt for kids is also available and both items are sized according to age in six possibilities from 2 years old to sub-teen 12-year-old fans.

Not forgetting the crowning glory, of course a uni-sex cap is part of the range featuring the KRT “River Mark” emblem plus primary sponsor Monster logo as well as a beanie plus practical and adaptable branded neck tube.

The Kawasaki Racing Team are dressing for success in 2023 and now you can join them and show your true colours with the new range of genuine Kawasaki race team clothing.

Cheshire Mouldings Kawasaki sign Max Cook for the 2023 British Superbike season

The Official Kawasaki-supported Bennetts British Superbike Championship team, Cheshire Mouldings Kawasaki, is excited to confirm its full rider line up for the 2023 season, with reigning Junior Superstock Champion Max Cook joining Lee Jackson on the proven Ninja ZX-10RR Superbike.

The move into the premier class is going to be a big step for the 19-year-old, who will become one of the youngest riders in the highly competitive series. However, the Cheshire Mouldings Kawasaki team have a proven pedigree in helping young riders take the next step in their career, as they proved with Rory Skinner in recent years.

To ensure that Max is able to line up on the grid for round one in the best possible shape, the team has created a comprehensive winter testing programme designed to help him get to grips with the powerful 1,000cc Ninja ZX-10RR. Max is also undertaking an extensive fitness programme over the off-season to ensure that he will be ready for the demands of Superbike racing when the season gets underway on April 7th at Silverstone.

The UK’s largest manufacturer of wood mouldings and stair parts, Cheshire Mouldings, is returning as title sponsor for the team. First partnering with the FS-3 Racing team last year, Cheshire Mouldings are a recognised name within the world of motorcycling racing, sponsoring the Kawasaki Racing Team in World Superbikes and various riders and teams within the British Superbike paddock.

Max Cook:

“This is a dream come true for me. Firstly, I would like to thank Nigel and Darren for supporting me for six years and now, to finally be their rider is so surreal! Nigel has supported me throughout my years at Red Bull Rookies Cup, Moto3 Junior World Championship and most recently, winning the Junior Superstock 600 championship, so he knows what I can do on a bike.

Of course, this is a big step for me, but I feel like I am totally ready for the challenge and looking forward to showing people what I can do. To have Lee Jackson as my teammate is amazing. We all know he is very fast, and he is someone that I have always looked up to, so I can’t wait to soak up his knowledge. I have already had a taste for the superbike in early October, and I’m very excited to give it the beans in a proper run out in winter testing!”

Nigel Snook, Team Manager of Cheshire Mouldings Kawasaki:

“We’ve been supporting Max for six years and have been really impressed with his progress. He’s served his apprenticeship winning the BSB Moto 3 championship in 2017, then progressing through the British Talent Cup, Red Bull Rookies and the Junior World Championship. His talent really shone through this year as he dominated the Junior Superstock Championship and made a very impressive Supersport debut at the final round at Brands Hatch.

As a team, we pride ourselves on actively supporting young talented riders, so the decision to promote Max to ride alongside Lee Jackson fitted perfectly with our philosophy. As a front-running BSB team, it’s easy to overlook a long-term development plan in return for instant results. We believe every team in the paddock has the responsibility to nurture young talent to keep British riders at the forefront of world racing and show everyone that the British Superbike Championship is the strongest domestic championship in the world. Just coming up to his 20th birthday, Max will certainly have his work cut out getting used to the raw power of a superbike, but we’ve got a full testing plan in place for him over the winter, and he’s very excited to get going. Based on his previous experience, we don’t think it will be too long before he surprises a few people.’’

Ross Burridge, Head of Marketing & Racing Department at Kawasaki UK:

“Nigel and Darren are very much in line with the Team Green philosophy, and we are excited to see what they and Max can do in 2023. After successfully developing Rory Skinner with him ultimately ending up in Moto 2 next year, we know they have the credentials to work with young riders. Max is a supreme talent, we have all seen that already, but now it’s time for him to make his biggest step yet. We are confident for an exciting and strong season.”

Bradley Perie to make British Superbike debut with Lee Hardy Racing

British Supersport sensation Bradley Perie will make his Bennetts British Superbike Championship debut in 2023, signing with the proven Lee Hardy Racing team to compete on a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR.

After a turbulent 2022, the team is looking to regroup for next season and build an updated and advanced version of the Ninja ZX-10RR. This will ensure that multiple-Supersport race winner Bradley will have the best possible start to his career in the highly competitive series.

However, stepping up from a 600cc machine to 1000cc is a big switch. That is why alongside the team working hard on advancing the Superbike, Bradley is fully focused on working on his fitness over the winter months to prepare for the challenges the larger capacity machine brings.

Bradley Perie:

“I’m grateful and excited to be making my debut Superbike season with the renowned Lee Hardy Racing team, onboard the proven Kawasaki ZX-10RR along with the Team Green family. It’s a dream come true so I can’t wait to get the ball rolling with the first test in 2023.”

Lee Hardy, Team Principal:

“I’m very excited to announce our new signing Bradley and particularly keen to secure Bradley for not only 2023 but it’s also important to retain Bradley for a second season. This opportunity will give Bradley a stable situation to learn the Kawasaki ZX-10RR Superbike without the pressure of having to try and succeed in year one.

Bradley is a complete rookie to the Superbike championship however he has shown me great potential and certainly is a rider that has caught my eye. It is so nice to revert back to the roots of Lee Hardy Racing and give young talent an opportunity to develop and hopefully succeed within the BSB championship.

There are many things you need to consider as a team owner when you are looking at a new venture, one thing that definitely helped me make my decision was the opening up of the Spanish testing again. This is a great opportunity for Bradley to throw his leg over the 2023 Kawasaki ZX-10RR and complete many laps in a relaxed environment, it's not just about learning the bike, this will also give Bradley the chance to understand his new crew and get comfortable working with a new team.”

Ross Burridge, Head of Marketing & Racing Department at Kawasaki UK:
“Lee runs a great outfit that has not just lots of experience with the ZX-10RR machine but also with developing young talent, almost taking Jake Dixon to Championship glory in 2018. We have every faith that Bradley and the team will click from the off, and maximum effort will be put in from all sides to ensure a smooth and successful transition from Supersport to Superbike for Bradley. It’s important that teams start to give young up-and-coming riders a chance in Superbike, and with Lee doing just that, we are right behind him.”

DAO Racing Kawasaki expands to Pirelli Superstock 1000 class

After another strong season on the roads, which saw multiple podiums at the Isle of Man TT, the DAO Racing Kawasaki team will again return as the official Kawasaki UK Road Racing Team for 2023 with Dean Harrison. The Kirby Lonsdale-based team will also expand their efforts into the competitive Pirelli National Superstock 1000 class with new signing Brayden Elliott.

Australian rider Brayden will join the DAO Racing team, ready to build on a fantastic 2022 season in the National Superstock class. Finishing fourth overall, taking one victory and a further three podiums, the 27-year-old will make the switch to the Ninja ZX-10RR for next year, setting his sights firmly on challenging for the title.

Bradford’s Dean Harrison will remain with the team for next season, again competing in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship to ensure he remains sharp and ‘bike fit’ ready for the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT in May.

As the official Kawasaki UK Road Racing Team, the DAO Racing squad will be receiving factory support from Kawasaki in Japan, helping them to continue the development of the Superbike and allowing them to push for a repeat success of the memorable Senior TT win in 2019.

Jonny Bagnall, DAO Racing Kawasaki Team Manager:
“Whilst our main focus always has been the roads, we are enjoying competing in a full season of British Superbike racing. It really does benefit Dean on the roads, but we also want to be as competitive as possible on the short circuits too. Having Brayden join us on the Superstock bike is really exciting as we will be pushing hard for the title in that class whilst at the same time developing the Superstock machine for Dean on the roads. We can’t wait to get going!”

Ross Burridge, Head of Marketing & Racing Department at Kawasaki UK:

“After several successful seasons on the roads, we are pleased to continue with DAO Racing as our official Road Racing team and excited to see them expand to the Superstock 1000 class! Brayden is a talented rider with a passion for success, and we hope that the combination of Brayden, the team and our Ninja ZX-10RR will bring that success we all strive for in 2023! With an even stronger Superbike for Dean, too, we believe that he will be well-positioned to fight for top honours on the roads next season. It can’t come soon enough!”

Kawasaki UK expands partnership with MSS Performance for 2023

After a long and successful history working with MSS Performance, including the last six years as the official Team Green Technical Partner, Kawasaki UK is excited to be strengthening that partnership further in 2023.

First connecting back in 1982 when MSS raced a GPZ1100 at Bemsee Club Racing, the pairing between Kawasaki and MSS has continued to grow over the years. Six years ago, Team Green appointed MSS Performance as its official Technical Partner, seeing them support everyone from British Superbike and Isle of Man TT riders to club racers and even trackday enthusiasts.

2023 will now see MSS Performance adding even more race parts to their inventory, allowing them to create bespoke and higher-spec race packages for riders across the UK. Unveiled on the opening day at Motorcycle Live, visitors to the show will be able to see a full race-spec Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja 400 on the Kawasaki stand. Interested riders and teams will also be able to meet the MSS team throughout the nine-day event or contact them by visiting https://www.mssperformance.com/.

Ross Burridge, Head of Marketing & Racing Department at Kawasaki UK:

“We are really pleased to be able to take our partnership with Nick and the MSS team to the next level. I first began working with the team when they were our official British Superbike squad, and since then, we have had many successful years working together.

For 2023, this strengthened relationship will allow even more riders to join the Team Green family, and I think everyone can agree that the two display bikes on our stand look fantastic!”

Nick Morgan, MSS Performance:

“2023 sees us enter into our sixth year as Team Green Technical Partners, which we are extremely proud of. It has been a fantastic opportunity for MSS to assist riders of all levels across the proven Ninja 400, ZX-6R and formidable ZX-10RR race bikes. Our passion for Kawasaki started over 40 years ago, and remains as strong as ever!

We are really looking forward to being able to offer riders even more for 2023 and cannot wait for the start of next season and then many more after that.”

Kawasaki reveals carbon neutrality plans at EICMA | Go with Green Power

In a landmark speech at the 2022 EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan, the President of Kawasaki Motors Corporation, Mr Hiroshi Ito, unveiled a range of new and prototype Kawasaki models while sharing more details of a company-wide vision focused on Carbon Neutrality.

Joining the battery electric Z family machine destined to fulfill the needs of commuters in cities across Europe first shown as a prototype at Intermot, Mr Ito also unveiled a Ninja style machine with the same dual battery motive power and a maximum capacity of 3.0 kWh. Both machines have been created to comply with the European A1 vehicle licence regulations and will be on sale during 2023.

Highlighting Kawasaki research and development into other innovative vehicle types, Mr Ito hosted the European preview  of Kawasaki’s first ever Hybrid motorcycle in prototype form. Able to quickly and easily switch between its internal combustion engine and electric motive power, the HEV machine is currently destined to be part of the 2024 product range.

Demonstrating that Kawasaki is considering the full breadth of urban mobility from multi-cylinder machines to those based on familiar cycle technology and configuration, the Kawasaki booth at EICMA also hosted displays including an electric tricycle  called “Noslisu” plus an experimental hydrogen powered display engine based on the Supercharged Ninja H2 using direct injection and compressed gaseous hydrogen as fuel plus the Elektrode, a child’s off-road style electric bike already on sale in North America.

While underlining Kawasaki’s commitment to internal combustion engines and research into future fuel types, Mr Ito also unveiled a new symbol headlining the new Go with Green Power initiative with its goal of achieving carbon neutrality for Kawasaki within a strategic timeframe.

From the current model line, an updated Ninja H2 SX was shown for the first time at EICMA. Already equipped with front and rear radar sensors as standard, the new addition of auto high-beam – that automatically switches between low and high beams – was unveiled as just one of the many new models for 2023 season. Amidst so many attention-grabbing new, prototype and pre-production models, Mr Ito additionally clarified that across the two model seasons from model years 2024 to 2025, Kawasaki plan to also introduce about 30 internal combustion engined motorcycles globally. About half of this number will comply with European regulations and are therefore destined for the European market.

The sentiment that Mr Ito left the media audience with at EICMA was that Kawasaki will continue to provide products and services that meet the needs of its customers and society by harnessing advances in current vehicle technology and via new, environmentally friendly products that are carbon neutral.

Victor Steeman

It is with great sadness that we communicate the news that Victor Steeman (MTM Kawasaki) has passed away after sustaining serious injuries during the first race of the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship finale at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve last weekend.

Despite the quick response in attending to him at trackside, and the efforts of the medical staff both on site and at the hospital in Faro, Victor passed away on Tuesday 11 October.

Steeman was still in contention for the 2022 WorldSSP300 championship before his accident, after a recent run of four race wins. He lined up on the grid in Portugal having just secured a new record of six career pole position starts in WorldSSP300.

Victor had enjoyed a successful early career in his native Netherlands, in the Rookies Cup and then in the IDM before his first full season in WorldSSP300 last year.

Kawasaki extends it sincere condolences to his family, friends and all those in the close-knit MTM team at this difficult time.

Steve Guttridge, Kawasaki Race Planning Manager, stated: “Victor was a hero to all of us at Kawasaki. He had achieved much in his racing journey already, even at such a young age. We express our deepest sympathies to his friends and family, and of course all of his supporters and the crew of his MTM team, at this sad time.”

Kawasaki unveils EV production prototype at Intermot

On Tuesday 4 October Kawasaki offered a tempting glimpse of just one option for future motive power by revealing the prototype of a promised EV production machine.

First seen in action at the Suzuka 8 Hour event, the EV model was one element of a wide-ranging speech presented by Managing Director of Kawasaki Motors Europe, Mr Masaya Tsuruno.

Reflecting on the commitment of Mr Hiroshi Ito, the President of Kawasaki Motors, to present at least three electric vehicles globally by 2022, Mr Tsuruno stressed that the prototype – that was on display for just the duration of the Press Conference – would form the basis of an actual future production machine.

While underlining Kawasaki’s continuing commitment to Internal Combustion Engines, Mr Tsuruno added that both E-fuel and Bio-fuel were among the options being considered in addition to the much reported research into hydrogen as a possible carbon neutral choice.

With its undoubted huge internal resourced and experience, Kawasaki is well placed to play a significant part in both the transport evolution via new and emerging technology, in addition to an enviable track record of internal combustion engine innovation. And, as Mr Tsuruno explained, the company is actively involved in partnerships which are not confined to simply the two-wheel world but encompass both automotive and other future-focused technologies, commenting that:
“We are highly motivated and strongly connected and will continue our research and development”.

In closing, Mr Tsuruno revealed that the company is committed to further strengthening the Kawasaki brand, to offer products and services that meet customer needs, continue research into carbon neutrality and explore every opportunity.

Justifiably causing a worldwide sensation when launched, the supreme Supernaked Z H2 remains the planet’s only production forced induction naked style machine.

Harnessing Kawasaki’s unique in-house developed balanced supercharger technology, the 147.1 kW {200 PS} rated Z H2 and its sparring partner, the Z H2 SE, boast impressive specifications with an array of technology and rider aids that justify their positions at the forefront of the naked bike segment.

For the Z H2 this means such features as IMU enhanced electronics package encompassing electronic cruise control, traction control, power mode selection, launch control plus other top line items like a dual direction quick shifter and integrated braking along with an assist and slipper clutch.

And on the subject of braking, the Z H2 benefits from Brembo M4.32 calipers while the Z H2 SE boasts the Italian firm’s latest Stylema calipers along with Showa electronically damped suspension featuring state-of-the-art Skyhook technology designed to keep the machine attitude stable while the suspension absorbs road deviations.

With both machines benefiting from a Ninja H2 derived trellis tube chassis and all LED lighting integrated into the unique Sugomi styling, the rider view is dominated by the “fat” type handlebar and highly praised colour TFT meter display featuring Smartphone connectivity allowing riders to use version two of the Kawasaki Rideology App.

Add a Performance Edition to the mix featuring a large smoke meter cover, gel tank pad, colour coded seat cover and titanium Akrapovic exhaust silencer and the choice of which Z H2 to focus on gets even harder.

In 2023, the Z H2 will be available in Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray/Ebony, costing £17,299.

The Z H2 SE will be in showrooms resplendent in Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray/Ebony/Mirror Coated Black, costing £19,799.

Both models will be available from February.

The unique and much loved “versatile system” that lays at the core of the mid and large capacity Versys range continues into 2023 offering a number of new colour options while highlighting the many Editions that are possible for either the two-cylinder 650 class machine or the four-cylinder litre class Versys 1000.

Whether riding solo or two-up, around the corner or around the globe both the nimble 650 Versys and the continent crushing 1000cc class machines have engines tuned for flexibility, and lithe chassis specifications allied to a characteristic relaxed, upright riding position offering a high level of machine control and comfortable seating for rider and passenger.  With impressive wind protection as standard, it’s easy to spend a long and rewarding time in the saddle of a Versys.

In terms of the Versys 1000, there are three model types for 2024 each with an array of accessories available or the choice of Edition versions. Even the standard version comes equipped with Electronic Cruise Control plus Kawasaki KTRC Traction Control, Power Modes and an Assist and Slipper clutch plus Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System while many features found on the S and SE model are additional accessory options.

The Versys 1000 S takes the ‘any roads’ platform to the next level offering linked Traction Control and Power Modes plus up/down quick shifter, LED Cornering Lights, a TFT meter panel and grip heaters plus hand covers as just part of its comprehensive showroom floor package. Moving to the most technical and state-of-the-art Versys 1000, the SE model includes the addition of advanced Showa electronically damped suspension to the matrix facilitating Skyhook technology whereby the attitude of the machine is targeted to remain stable as the suspension moves to absorb road deviations.

For the Versys 650 the message for 2024 is “the same but different” with its own range of Edition options available. While there is one base platform, it is possible to either personalise on an individual basis selecting from a range of genuine accessories or opt for one of four Edition models offered. Complete with KTRC traction control, LED lighting and Bluetooth connection as standard, the flickable Versys 650 also boasts a colour TFT meter and adjustable windscreen as part of the foundation spec. Allied to this are Urban, Tourer, Grand Tourer and Grand Tourer Plus Edition models each offering a rising increment in specification from the addition of colour-coded “one key system” luggage to other carefully chosen accessory items.

In terms of the Versys 1000 there are three Edition models over and above the standard specification or the possibility of an owner creating their own machine identity from the official Kawasaki accessory range. The Versys 1000 Tourer sits proudly alongside the Versys Tourer Plus and Grand Tourer with each of the three model bases available in one of the three options making a 1000cc class range of an amazing twelve machines while the 650 range amounts to an impressive five machines.

Colours for the Versys 650 in 2024 are Metallic Smoke Gold/Metallic Flat Spark Black/Metallic Spark Black or Candy Lime Green/Metallic Flat Spark Black/Metallic Spark Black and the new model will be available from January, with prices starting from: Versys 650 – £8,249

Versys 650 Tourer – £9,049

Versys 1000 S – £13,579

Versys 1000 S Tourer – £14,329

Versys 1000 S Grand Tourer – £15,279

Finally, the Versys 1000 SE comes in Emerald Blazed Green/Metallic Diablo Black/Metallic Flat Spark Black or Metallic Graphite Gray/Metallic Diablo Black/Metallic Flat Spark Black. Available from November, prices start from:

Versys 1000 SE – £15,569

Versys 1000 SE Tourer – £16,319

Versys 1000 SE Grand Tourer – £17,269

They say there is always strength in numbers and the 2024 Versys 650 and 1000 range proves that beyond doubt with a staggering twelve possible model editions to choose from. A vast and versatile 2024 range- if adventure calls then it must be the Versys from Kawasaki.

KRT Kiddimoto balance bike sets next Rea generation on the right track

Like father, like sons, Jake and Tyler Rea have taken to two wheels in the Superbike paddock and are already targeting a future Kawasaki factory ride thanks to the newly launched Kiddimoto balance bike in 2022 KRT livery.

Six-time WorldSBK Champion, Jonathan Rea, has travelled the racing world with his wife, Tatia and their two sons so it was only fitting that the boys got the chance for an exclusive “KRT test ride” at the Catalunya track on a bike which boasts a sustainably sourced birch plywood chassis plus grippy pneumatic tyres.

Naturally the next generation of a family that lives and breathes motorcycles were soon getting used to the steering and manoeuvrability of mini WorldSBK replica honing their balance, coordination, and confidence.

After mastering the fun two-wheeler in the paddock impressing his father and KRT technicians with his skill and control, 6-year-old Tyler commented:
“I can be a Kawasaki rider just like my dad now. The bike was easy to ride, and I even tried a few stunts, but dad said I should walk before I run, ha ha!”

The 2022 KRT Kiddimoto is available from Kawasaki dealers now.
