GMG GUZZI WORLD DAYS AND THE CENTENARY MOTORCYCLE RALLY POSTPONED TO 2022
THE SITUATION CREATED BY THE PANDEMIC HAS MADE IT NECESSARY TO RESCHEDULE THE EVENTS THAT WAS DUE TO BE HELD IN MANDELLO DEL LARIO FROM 6 TO 12 SEPTEMBER
Mandello del Lario, 30 July 2021 – The 2021 edition of GMG Guzzi World Days and the Centenary Motorcycle Rally will not be held as planned from 6 to 12 September in Mandello del Lario, due to the situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic.
With great regret, and based on the indications of the authorities and the advice regarding the health situation, Moto Guzzi, the Mandello del Lario Town Council and the Motorcycle Rally Organising Committee have had to take the very difficult decision to cancel the event.
Current conditions, and the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, would have severely limited the possibility of organising an event to match the expectations of the many thousands of enthusiasts who would have arrived from around the world.
The centenary celebrations have only been put on hold, however: the Mandello del Lario municipality and Moto Guzzi will make sure that this important anniversary can be celebrated freely and safely, to everyone’s enjoyment, in 2022.
The Mayor of Mandello del Lario, Riccardo Fasoli, said:
“We continued hope right until the end, but the current situation of the pandemic means the anti-contagion measures cannot be relaxed as we would have wished. Conditions are such that we are unable to offer an event in line with expectations for an unforgettable celebration of the centenary. The postponement will enable enthusiasts all over the world to celebrate a completely safe and happy motorcycle rally with us in Mandello.”
Bikers will therefore not find the events, entertainment and attractions associated with this type of celebration in Mandello. For visitors who decide nonetheless to come to the area in early September, Moto Guzzi will keep the Museum open, but, in accordance with the protocols, visits must be booked in advance and will take place with all the precautions required by law.
Additional information will be provided in August.
